Job Title: Tax Associate
Job Summary:
As a Tax Associate, you will work closely with tax professionals to provide comprehensive tax services to clients. Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing tax returns, researching tax issues, and assisting with tax planning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates
Review tax returns prepared by other team members for accuracy and completeness
Conduct tax research and analysis to identify and resolve complex tax issues
Assist with tax planning and provide recommendations to clients
Communicate with clients and team members to gather information and provide updates on tax-related matters
Respond to inquiries from taxing authorities and assist with tax audits
Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
1-2 years of tax experience preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other tax software
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
CPA or Enrolled Agent certification preferred, but not required
Working Conditions:
The Tax Associate position is typically a full-time role that may require working extended hours during peak tax season. Work is primarily performed in an office setting, but some travel may be required to meet with clients or attend training sessions.
