Job Title: Tax Manager
Job Summary:
As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of tax services for clients, including tax planning, compliance, and research. You will supervise and mentor junior staff members, develop and maintain client relationships, and assist with business development activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee tax engagements for a variety of clients, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates
Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize clients' tax liabilities
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and prepare and review complex tax returns
Research and analyze complex tax issues and provide recommendations to clients
Supervise and mentor junior staff members and provide feedback and guidance as needed
Develop and maintain relationships with clients and other stakeholders
Assist with business development activities, including proposal writing and presenting to potential clients
Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and share knowledge with team members
Participate in firm-wide initiatives and special projects as needed
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
5-7 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm
CPA or Enrolled Agent certification required
Strong technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel as needed
Working Conditions:
The Tax Manager position is typically a full-time role that may require working extended hours during peak tax season. Work is primarily performed in an office setting, but some travel may be required to meet with clients or attend training sessions.
